Seeds are the most important ingredient in all gardening. Without quality seeds it would be impossible to have a beautiful garden. True seeds vary in size from the dust-like seeds of some orchids to the large seed contained in the coconut. The period of dormancy undergone by many seeds before germination also varies. The seeds may lie dormant for a short period of time before you see growth sprouting above the soil, or they may be dormant for a long time.
For some seeds a long dormancy is a result of the extremely hard outer coating of the seeds. Flower seeds, vegetable seeds and garden seeds all germinate very quickly and are therefore perfect for home use. When your ready to start choosing your seeds here's an important point to keep in mind; You can greatly increase your odds for having a great gardening year by buying from a seed company that's involved in continuous trial programs. In other words, they are always on the look out for better and better seeds. Remember, whether its grass seeds, tomato seeds or flax seed, the plant will only be as good as the original seed.Quality soil rich in nutrients will help insure that the seeds you planted will reach their full potential. Of course an attentive, caring gardener such as yourself will provide that little extra ingredient that will insure the seeds you plant will experience beautiful growth.Spend some time as your do research on the web and choose quality merchants that you believe will provide great seeds so you can plant your garden with full confidence that your efforts will be rewarded.
Gardening is a rewarding hobby for anyone and producing beautiful flowers and plants from health seeds will greatly enrich your experience..

Growing Ginseng
Ginseng is a fleshy rooted herb and a slow growing plant that takes years to grow. Ginseng grows in well-drained, cool, shaded hardwood forests. Ginseng does not grow in full sunlight, and hardwood forests provide the plant with plenty of shade. Ginseng is a perennial plant, but unlike other perennials lies dormant some years and does not grow new tops every year. The root does not die but lies dormant until the following year.
Ginseng seeds sprout up in the spring.
Hence, the best time to plant is sometime the end of September until the end of February. Seeds or plants will sprout the end of April.
Plant seeds about 1/2 to 1" deep, two year old roots about 11D2" deep. Lay the roots on their side, not vertical. Then cover the whole bed with 1 I" of mulch or rotten leaves.
One-year-old plants will have three leaflets, looking like a strawberry plant. The second year, the plants usually have five leaflets, and the following year, it begins...
Mangosteen The Queen Of Fruits Comes To America in a Dietary Supplement Juice
(ContentDesk) October 24, 2005 -- Mangosteen is an evergreen tree about 30 to 75 feet tall when mature. The mangosteen tree is a small, slow growing tropical evergreen with leathery, glabrous leaves up to 10 inches long. Fruits are borne on lateral branches. They have a thick rind, which encloses 5 to 7 fleshy segments, in which the seeds are imbedded. Only about 25 to 30% of the mangosteen fruit consists of the edible pulp or rind, with the remainder comprising the tough, bitter pericarp.
Each mangosteen fruit usually varies in weight from 75 to 120 grams and normally contains 2 to 3 well-developed seeds. The pulp, the only part consumed, has excellent flavor, proclaimed by many as the best among tropical fruits. Often two crops per year mature, one in the autumn, and one in early summer. The trees often bear sparingly. The tree appears to be adapted best to strictly tropical areas and requires abundant moisture.
The mangosteen fruit may be the best tasting fruit in the...

How to Make a Wheat Heating Pad
Ingredients for this project:Any thick material (this project calls for 18",but you can make the heating pad any size you want sewing machine or needle and thread Flax seed or wheat Essential oil *optional
We have all seen those microwave heating pads selling in the stores for big bucks, and I always thought "Boy I wish I knew how to make one" They look so easy to make. So my new friend Wendy gave me the "directions" and it is easy enough to do and so helpful to those of us who get cold easily or have sore muscles. It's pretty easy to make a wheat bag heating pad - all you need is some strong material like cotton, canvas or tartan, as long as there's no give in it, so it doesn't stretch! Keep in mind, it needs to be pretty thick so when the wheat is heated (and it gets pretty hot) that you don't burn yourself.Once you pick your material, cut a square about 18" each side and fold it in half so it's inside out. It will be oblong shape. Stitch down one short side and the long side....
Flower Seed
Flowers have been grown and nurtured over years for personal and business purposes. A flower provides visual bliss in addition to a soothing aroma and an array of delightful colors. One can give cut flowers as gifts to celebrate events, express feelings or just grow them in a backyard.
It may sound strange when a botanist refers to singular divisions of a flower while referring to male and female reproductive organs. However, this is true.
Flowers are used as a reproductive organ only in certain angiosperms plants. A pistil is located in the center of a flower and it contains female organs. It has a rounded lower base, which is the ovary. These contain reproductive cells called ovule.
Pistils contain a style and a stigma, which are sticky. Pollen grains stick to the stigma through fertilization or pollination from insects, wind or other means.
This facilitates the development of pollen tubes inside the style, which navigate down to the ovary....
