As Spring Arrives, Wildflower Seed Sales Zoom at the Web's Leading Site

Recent studies show that gardening is still the fastest-growing hobby in the US, and wildflower seed gardening is one of the fastest-growing segments of the hobby.AmericanMeadows.com, a leading website for wildflower gardeners, has seen important growth ever since 2005 began. "Our traffic is up over 50% since the year began," says Ray Allen, who with his wife, Chy, founded AmericanMeadows over 20 years ago. The Allens founded the Vermont Wildflower Farm back in 1981 to share their hobby of wildflowers with others. (This summer the Wildflower Farm will be featured on HGTV.)
Now, after that experience, the creation a national seed catalog, and finally, creating a handsome, seed-filled website under their "national" name, AmericanMeadows.com, the couple continues to enjoy introducing more and more gardeners to the easy care world of wildflower meadow gardening. And wildflower seeds is not all they offer now.

"We added flower bulbs last fall, and now have a really unique list of summer-flowering bulbs to plant this spring," says Allen. "Of course, we have glads and dahlias, but we also have some of the hard-to-find species lilies that I think are really the world's most beautiful wildflowers," notes Allen. Allen also points out the flood of press reports now coming in from early spring bloom in the desert Southwest. "Even Death Valley is in bloom this spring, thanks to all the rain out there.
This is going to be a very good year."Visit http://www.AmericanMeadows.com for wildflower seeds for all regions of North America, seeds of 80 individual wildflowers, plus a wide selection of summer-flowering bulbs for home gardens.American Meadows also sells what they call "Favorite Flower Packets" of wildflower seeds for .50 each, and less with quantity.

Their forget-me-nots, daisies, poppies, and wildflower mix packets are favorites with realtors, banks, insurance companies, and other groups for use in spring promotions, employee meetings, and customer mailings. Many companies use the packets as giveaways for Earth Day, April 22..

By the time you read this it will be the middle of winter?. If you have not already done so, NOW is the perfect time to plan your garden!! A major discount store had seeds out in January. The seed catalogs were arriving then as well & it is not too late to order some now. Thumb through the catalogs or peruse the seed section of the local stores. Write down the type of plants you want to eat.

Once that is done it is time to locate where you will plant it. Generally full sun is best [this does depend upon what you plan to grow]. As a general rule plant the tallest varieties to the north end of the planting areas so that they do not shade the other plants.

How much room do you ?really' need to grow some pretty impressive crops. In an area as small as 100 square feet will be large enough to grow all the salad fix'ns that a family of 4 will need for the summer, with perhaps some extra to be used in cooking & putting up for the winter.

This Earth Day Plant Seeds of Kindness and Hope - Start the Ripple-Effect of Planting Seeds of Hope and Random Acts of Kindness

This year across the United States, Earth Day will not only feature planting live trees and environmental clean-up, but also planting seeds of kindness and hope as people use a little book of ideas to make a difference in their communities and theworld."This E-book grew out of a deep desire to help others in a practical way," says author Ginny Dye. "Knowing the enormity of the need around us can sometimes have a paralyzing effect and so we do nothing. '101 Ways to Change the World' is a resource of simple, no (or low) cost ideas on how to make a difference."The ideas are things nearly anyone can do. For instance, #6: "Take your lunch break to clean up trash. Enlist the help of other employees to do the same." #35: "Pay the Road Toll for the person behind you.

How about 3 or 4 behind you? Have the Toll Keeper tell them to pass on the kindness to someone else that day." And #55 "Find someone's yard that is horribly overgrown, then send in a team to clean it up, taking all the clippings...

Thornwood, NY (ContentDesk) August 7, 2006 -- Eric Rosenbaum, owner of Mamaroneck Avenues most delicious new eatery, believes that condiments are not simply accoutrement; they are a way of life. Tayste (www.tasyte.com), Rosenbaums dream, came to fruition as a funky eatery which not only has a delicious and varied menu, but also specializes in condiments. Tayste has over 50 different kinds of mustard and ketchup, making it the largest collection of condiments in Westchester. To this end, Rosenbaum is challenging the public: A free hot dog awaits anyone who brings in a brand or variation of mustard that Tayste doesnt already carry!
